North Rocks Smallbore Rifle Club Smallbore rifle shooting is one of the oldest Olympic sports of the modern era. North rocks has had a number of its members represent Australia and NSW in the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, World Cup and Australian and State competitions. 
North Rocks club was formed in 1954 to promote smallbore shooting in the North Rocks area. It was situated off Hepburn Road at North Rocks and the range was resumed with the building of the M2 Motorway. The club moved to the Hyland Park range at Greystanes in 1991. The club operates on every Wednesday night except for a 3week break at Christmas. Shooting starts at 7.15pm and we normally shoot 4 details of 30 minutes each. Shooting is completed at 9.45pm, members usually adjourn to the clubhouse to socialise. The club shoots at the Hyland Park Range at Hyland Road Greystanes (UBD ref 209 B12) (Gregory's ref 305 B12). Where is web site. We provide free coaching to new members. We have a quantity of club rifles and equipment that may be borrowed free to members until they decide to purchase their own. The club has a wide profile of members both male and female, junior/senior and veterans. While we promote competitive shooting this is not a requirement of the club and members may elect to shoot how they wish. We run a prize shoot every year in July. The costs involved in shooting smallbore rifle are very low. Club fees are less that $110 per year, range fees are $5.00/night or $30.00/6 months. Equipment prices vary as per your requirements. Ammunition cost range from $4.00 to $15.00 /box 50 rounds. Shooting members are required to hold a current NSW Firearms Licence Category A, target shootig. New members can apply for a Temporary Club Membership Licence, which allows them to shoot for 3 months. The club has a number of Firearms Safety Awareness Officers who can conduct Firearms Safety Awareness Tests, these are required prior to applying for a State Firearms Licence. The club has application forms for temporary club membership and prospective members will have to bring some form of proof of identity with you.
