Hurstville District Smallbore Rifle Club

Hurstville District Smallbore Rifle Club Rebuilds Range - 22nd July 2000

Following the introduction of the uniform gun laws, Mr. Bob Carr announced that his government would provide financial assistance to clubs for the specific purpose of upgrading their facilities to cater for an expected influx of new shooters.

Hurstville District Smallbore Rifle Club applied for financial assistance and was granted $30 000 on a dollar for dollar basis enabling the club to upgrade the range to U.I.T. standards and provide additional lighting to enable extended usage.

Club members from Bexley S.B.R.C. and Hurstville, in a joint effort, spent nearly 8 months working on weekends and at other times to reconstruct the Roberts road facility, which is now licensed to conduct all I.S.S.F. matches and rim fire field rifle and air pistol.
